In a breathtaking display of cultural pride and unity, Saudi Arabia has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest performance of the traditional Saudi Ardah, held at Al Adl Plaza in Riyadh.
The historic event took place on Sunday, February 23, marking the grand finale of the Founding Day celebrations, which spanned four days from February 20 to 23. More than 50,000 people gathered to witness the cultural spectacle, which featured an extraordinary 633 performers showcasing synchronized drumming, chanting, and dancing—hallmarks of the revered Ardah tradition.
“This is more than just a performance—it’s a living embodiment of our heritage, passed down through generations,” said a spokesperson from the Ministry of Culture.
The Ardah, often performed at national events and royal ceremonies, is a symbol of Saudi identity and unity. Its inclusion in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list underscores its global cultural significance.
