Rising golf sensation Rose Zhang has etched her name into the history books by breaking the all-time record for the most weeks ranked No. 1 in the Women’s World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR®).
Zhang has now held the top spot for 136 weeks, surpassing the previous record of 135 weeks set by Ireland’s Leona Maguire in 2018. The 19-year-old American first claimed the No. 1 ranking in September 2020 and has remained there ever since, also eclipsing Lydia Ko’s record of 130 consecutive weeks at the summit.
Her achievement highlights an extraordinary level of consistency, dominance, and excellence in the amateur game, making her one of the most decorated amateur golfers in history.
This milestone is expected to further bolster Zhang’s growing legacy as she prepares to transition to the professional ranks. Her long-standing reign atop the WAGR® is a testament to her discipline, skill, and mental fortitude on the global stage.
