Orpington Crowned with World Record for Largest Human Image

Over 500 enthusiastic participants converged on Broomhill Common in Orpington, south-east London, to successfully create the “largest human image of a crown,” a feat that now awaits official recognition from Guinness World Records.

The impressive spectacle was part of a Big Lunch coronation tea party, where attendees donned purple, yellow, and white ponchos to form the intricate design. It took organisers a meticulous 45 minutes to bring the image to life, utilizing a PA system to direct the crowd and a drone to ensure precision from above.

The collaborative effort showcased the community’s spirit and creativity, leaving a lasting memory of their unique tribute. The group is now compiling and submitting their evidence to Guinness World Records, eagerly anticipating confirmation of their remarkable achievement.
