Nilanshi Patel, a teenager from Modasa, Gujarat, India, has achieved global fame by securing the Guinness World Records title for the longest hair on a teenager — not once, but twice.
At the age of 16, Nilanshi’s hair measured 170.5 cm (5 ft 7 in), earning her the title in 2018. Fondly referred to as “India’s Rapunzel”, her uncut locks became a symbol of natural beauty and determination.
Just before turning 18 in July 2020, her hair reached a breathtaking length of 200 cm (6 ft 6.7 in). This final measurement secured her the record for the longest hair ever on a teenager, marking an extraordinary end to her teen years.
Nilanshi had not cut her hair since the age of six, and her dedication made her an inspiration to millions worldwide. Her record has been celebrated for showcasing individuality and the beauty of self-expression.
She has since donated her hair to a museum, preserving her legacy for future generations.
