Merseyside Personal Trainer Breaks World Record After Cancer Scare

A personal trainer from Merseyside, Ben Haldon, 31, of Wallasey, has transformed a personal health scare into a remarkable world record achievement, all while raising vital funds for men’s health.

Haldon is now the proud Guinness World Record holder for walking the furthest distance carrying 45kg (100lbs) over 24 hours. His extraordinary feat shattered the previous record, which stood at just over 50 kilometers.

Inspired by his own testicular cancer scare, which ultimately required surgery, Mr. Haldon has raised nearly £5,000 for the men’s health charity, Movember. The scare began in December 2022 when he noticed a lump, prompting him to seek medical attention due to discomfort and pain. By the end of January, he underwent surgery for the non-malignant lump.

It was during his hospital stay that the ambitious idea for a world record attempt was born. His record-breaking endeavor falls under the category of “the furthest distance in 24 hours farmer’s carry 100lb (male),” a discipline that involves carrying heavy weights while walking for a specified duration or distance.

Haldon’s accomplishment not only showcases immense physical and mental fortitude but also serves as a powerful message about the importance of men’s health awareness and early check-ups.
