Man Morris Dances into Record Books with 11-Hour Marathon Performance in Oxfordshire

In a joyful whirl of bells, sticks, and tradition, Duncan Bhaskaran Brown from Abingdon has unofficially set a new world record by Morris dancing for over 11 hours straight, completing his spirited challenge at 16:09 BST after beginning just after 5:00 AM.

Decked in full traditional Morris dancing attire, Duncan danced solo in the heart of the town, racking up more than 100,000 steps and burning an estimated 6,000 calories—which, as he humorously put it, is “equivalent to about seven and a half full English breakfasts.”

His endurance feat, now awaiting official confirmation from Guinness World Records, also served a noble cause—raising over £1,500 for two local charities.

“It was exhausting but totally worth it,” Duncan shared, beaming with pride. “The support from the community kept me going!”

The event not only highlighted a beloved English folk tradition but also brought together the local community in celebration and charity, making it a record attempt to remember.
