To honor the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the Indian Railways introduced the VIVEK EXPRESS in 2012, connecting Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu) to Dibrugarh (Assam). Covering a remarkable distance of 4,279 kilometers across eight states, the train celebrates the life and teachings of the great philosopher whose wisdom continues to inspire generations.
A group of five passionate travelers from ARCHINEERS GROUP, Nashik, Maharashtra, undertook a remarkable journey on this iconic train. From 12th May to 16th May 2012, they completed a continuous five-day voyage — the longest single journey by train by a group of passengers — paying tribute to Swami Vivekananda’s enduring legacy. Their effort symbolizes unity and perseverance, embodying the spirit of exploration and reverence for one of India’s greatest spiritual leaders.
This achievement not only honors Swami Vivekananda’s ideals but also highlights the power of rail travel in bringing people together across diverse landscapes and cultures.
