Longest Solo Car Ride by Specially-Abled Driver on World’s Highest Motorable Road

Mr. Tilak Raj, son of Jagdish Raj, a specially-abled car rider with 100% spinal cord injury, has achieved a remarkable feat by completing a 2200-kilometer solo journey in his Maruti WagonR. With the inspiring message “Mera Badalta Naya Jammu & Kashmir – Leh Ladakh,” Tilak embarked on his trip on June 22, 2024, starting from Rajouri and traversing the scenic and challenging routes of Kashmir via Mughal Road (Peer Gali), Leh-Ladakh crossing Khardung La Top—the world’s second-highest motorable road at 17,982 feet—Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, and returning through Manali via the Atal Tunnel Rohtang.

Completing this epic journey in just 11 days on July 2, 2024, Tilak Raj has set a new record recognized by World Records India, showcasing extraordinary determination and resilience. His achievement sends a powerful message of hope and courage for people with disabilities and highlights the breathtaking beauty of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh regions.
