Lisburn Drummer Allister Brown Smashes World Record in Emotional 150-Hour Drumathon

Lisburn, Northern Ireland – Allister Brown, a 45-year-old drummer from Lisburn, has once again etched his name into the record books, smashing the world record for the longest continuous drumming session. Brown surpassed his own previous record of 134 hours and five minutes, drumming for an incredible more than 150 hours.

His monumental “drumathon” concluded on Saturday afternoon at the Lisburn Music Centre, marking his third world record achievement. Brown began his relentless rhythm last Sunday, showcasing astonishing endurance and dedication.

The challenge carried a deeply personal significance for Mr. Brown, who undertook the grueling feat in cherished memory of his late partner, Sharon Deegan. Ms. Deegan tragically passed away from pancreatic cancer in January 2021 at the age of 49.

Speaking shortly after completing the marathon drumming session, a visibly emotional but triumphant Mr. Brown described the endeavor as a “massive undertaking.” His record-breaking performance not only highlights his extraordinary talent and resilience but also serves as a powerful tribute to his partner, raising awareness and honoring her memory through the power of music.
