Talk about a sweet victory! Two men from Jersey, Alan Falle (32) and Scott Welsh (30), have officially secured a Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon run dressed as a sweet food.
The pair achieved this deliciously unique feat at the Jersey Marathon in October 2022, completing the race in an impressive three hours, 48 minutes, and 12 seconds, all while sporting elaborate ice cream costumes.
Inspired by their shared love for the island’s ice creams, the idea to attempt such a record was sparked by Mr. Falle. In a heartwarming twist, he applied for the record without informing Mr. Welsh, making the official recognition a complete surprise.
“It’s something unique that we can both be proud of,” said Mr. Falle, reflecting on their quirky achievement. Their record-breaking run not only highlights their athletic prowess but also their sense of fun and dedication to a truly memorable goal.
