Jasbir Singh Sets New Record with First-Ever Colourful Handwritten Replica of Guru Granth Sahib

Jasbir Singh, a retired officer from UPCL who served as a Junior Engineer and a passionate author from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, has achieved a remarkable milestone by creating the first-ever colourful handwritten replica of the Guru Granth Sahib, also known as the Adi Granth—the central religious scripture of Sikhism.

His extraordinary creation comprises 398,697 words arranged in 26,852 lines across 1,430 pages, featuring the 60 Ragas of Gurbani handwritten meticulously in four colours. Each page is adorned with beautifully designed borders and an ornate front page, demonstrating both devotion and artistry.

The Granth itself measures 15 inches in length and 11.1 inches in width, with a font size designed to match that of digital printing, ensuring clarity and readability. Jasbir Singh dedicated eight years to this monumental task, showcasing his unwavering commitment to preserving and celebrating Sikh heritage.

This unique replica was officially recognized as a new record on June 8, 2024, at Dehradun, Uttarakhand, and is a testament to Jasbir Singh’s devotion, craftsmanship, and respect for Sikh culture and literature. His work stands as an inspiration to scholars and devotees alike, preserving the spiritual and artistic traditions of Sikhism for generations to come.
