Indian Army EME Team Sets New Trans-India Cycling Record, Celebrating Reunion

A team of three determined cyclists from the Indian Army’s Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (EME) has etched their names into the record books, achieving the fastest time to cycle trans-India (West-to-East) by a team. Vishal Ahlawat, Sanjay Kumar Mishra, and Nagare Vinod completed the epic journey in a remarkable 10 days, 19 hours, and 4 minutes.

Their record-breaking ride, which commenced on October 15, 2018, and concluded on October 26, 2018, was more than just a quest for glory. When asked what motivated their grueling endeavor, the team revealed it was not only for a profound sense of achievement but also a unique way to celebrate a reunion for their prestigious Indian Army unit.

The Corps of EME is a vital arms and service branch of the Indian Army, responsible for the design, development, trial, inspection, repair, and maintenance of the vast spectrum of weapon systems and equipment. Their motto, “Karm Hi Dharm” (Work is Worship), aptly reflects the dedication demonstrated by this cycling trio.

The feat highlights the incredible endurance, discipline, and teamwork inherent in the Indian armed forces. While the exact route spanned thousands of kilometers across India, their commitment to both their service and this extraordinary challenge has left an inspiring mark.
