India Sets Record with World’s Largest Crutch in Gujarat

In a powerful display of support for persons with disabilities, Navjeevan Trust from Gujarat, India, set a remarkable Guinness World Record and World Records India by creating the world’s largest crutch, measuring a staggering 15.69 meters (51 feet 6 inches) in length and 2.44 meters (8 feet) wide at the handle.

The crutch is a life-sized recreation of an underarm crutch, symbolizing hope, mobility, and the strength of those who overcome physical challenges. This unique initiative was verified and officially recognized by Guinness World Records on January 18, 2018.

The event was aimed at raising awareness about the importance of accessibility, inclusion, and the empowerment of differently-abled individuals in society.

“This crutch stands as a towering reminder that no one should be left behind,” said a representative from Navjeevan Trust.

The record-setting installation drew large crowds and widespread appreciation for its symbolic value and engineering feat. It now stands as a beacon of encouragement and dignity for individuals with physical impairments across the globe.

By building the world’s largest crutch, Navjeevan Trust has elevated a basic mobility aid into a monumental statement of compassion and empowerment.
