Ahmedabad’s Karan Ashokbhai Dantani Sets Record with COVID-19 Awareness Garba Dress

Karan Ashokbhai Dantani a folk dancer and choreographer from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and the founder of Navlakh Garba Class (Jivraj Park), has achieved a remarkable milestone by designing a unique, awareness-themed Garba dress that weighs 6 kilograms.

His traditional ensemble (Kediyu, Lengha, and Pachedi) was crafted to spread awareness about COVID-19 precautions. The large designer paghdi (turban) displayed a Cloth Kathputi Couple Statue with masks, alongside 15 photographs, including 4 photos of Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting corona warriors.

Dantani further innovated by incorporating Special Hand Gloves with a stitched sanitizer bottle, emphasizing the importance of hygiene and safety during the pandemic. His creative effort was recognized as a New World Record on 13th November 2020 at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

This record not only honors his dedication to traditional art forms but also reflects his commitment to public health education through culture and dance.
