Ahmedabad Students Set World Record with Largest Hand Drumming Relay on Tabla

In a rhythmic celebration of Indian classical music, 284 students from Tabla Talim Sanstha achieved a Guinness World Record for the most people in a hand drumming relay on 15 October 2022 at Shrirangam Natya Shala, Shreyas Foundation, in Ahmedabad, India.

Guided by renowned tabla teacher Mr. Munjal Mehta, the participants performed the relay using the tabla, a revered hand drum integral to Indian classical music. The event showcased the synchronized talent, discipline, and dedication of the young musicians, each taking their turn in the relay to produce a continuous and harmonious flow of rhythm.

The record-breaking attempt was not just a musical milestone but also a tribute to the timeless legacy of the tabla and its role in preserving India’s rich cultural and artistic heritage.
