32 Guinness World Records Shattered at Virgin Money London Marathon 2024

The streets of London witnessed not only thousands of determined runners but also a remarkable display of human creativity and endurance as 32 official Guinness World Records were broken during this year’s Virgin Money London Marathon, out of 55 daring record attempts.

Among the standout achievers was Sean Fitzpatrick, who, dressed as a film character, clocked an incredible time of 2:39:09, securing the title for the fastest marathon dressed as a film character.

Guinness World Records Adjudicator Adam Brown was present at the finish line to officially verify each record-breaking feat. “The Finish Line at the London Marathon is an incredible place to spend an afternoon,” he said. “The outpouring of emotion from runners and spectators alike is heart-warming.”

From runners donning elaborate costumes to those pushing limits in unique categories, the 2024 edition once again showcased the marathon as a global platform for extraordinary achievements, all while celebrating community spirit and resilience.
