Colombia’s Paralympic star Karen Palomeque delivered a sensational performance at the Cali 2025 Grand Prix, setting a new world record in the women’s 200m T38 category with a time of 25.07 seconds.
The double Paralympic gold medallist electrified the home crowd as she stormed down the track, shaving valuable hundredths off the previous world best. Her dominant run reaffirmed her status as one of the world’s premier para-athletes and sent a powerful signal ahead of the upcoming World Para Athletics Championships.
“I felt the energy of the crowd pushing me,” Palomeque said after her race. “Breaking the world record here, in front of my people, is something I will never forget.”
