In an extraordinary blend of devotion, artistry, and literary brilliance, Kranti Nityanand Naik (born June 23, 1967), a talented artist and writer from Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, has achieved a remarkable world record by handwriting the entire sacred Granth Dnyaneshwari—a revered commentary on the Bhagavad Gita—using the rare and intricate technique of mirror image writing (levography).
This monumental task included all 18 Adhyays (chapters), 9,033 verses, 122,912 words, and 18,476 lines, meticulously written in the Marathi language—completely in reverse script—and accomplished within just 100 days.
This unmatched literary and artistic feat not only celebrates the depth of Marathi culture and spiritual heritage but also showcases the rare skill and dedication required to master such a specialized form of calligraphy.
The record was officially recognized and certified on January 28, 2023, at a special ceremony held in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, drawing admiration from scholars, artists, and spiritual leaders alike.
Naik’s work stands as a tribute to Sant Dnyaneshwar’s timeless wisdom, while simultaneously reviving and honoring a nearly forgotten writing technique.
