In a grand tribute to one of India’s greatest social reformers and the architect of the Indian Constitution, Shri Sudhakar Shrangare, Member of Parliament and BJP Leader from Latur, Maharashtra, organized a world record event on the 132nd Birth Anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Held at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Park in Latur, the event featured the unveiling of the largest portrait of Dr. Ambedkar, measuring a staggering 100 feet x 110 feet, covering a total area of 11,000 square feet. What made the feat remarkable was that the entire portrait was crafted using 18,000 colorful paper notebooks.
The unique portrait was designed and brought to life by renowned mosaic artist Chetan Raut and a dedicated team of 20 artists, who completed the intricate masterpiece in just three days.
The initiative was not only a visual homage to Dr. Ambedkar’s towering legacy but also carried a powerful message of education and empowerment. All 18,000 notebooks used in the creation were donated free of cost to underprivileged students, in line with Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of education for all and upliftment of the marginalized.
Speaking at the event, Shri Sudhakar Shrangare said, “This tribute is not only to honor Babasaheb Ambedkar but also to inspire children from economically weaker sections to pursue education and hard work, which Dr. Ambedkar always championed.”
The record-setting tribute has received widespread praise for its scale, creativity, and social impact, and now stands as a symbol of dedication to education and equality, principles that Dr. Ambedkar devoted his life to promoting.
