To promote Indian classical music and inspire students to master the art of playing the tabla, Tabla Talim Sansthan, Ahmedabad, organized an extraordinary non-stop tabla playing marathon. Led by the esteemed Tabla Maestro Shri Munjal Bhai Mehta, a group of 18 dedicated students played tabla continuously for an incredible 36 hours.
The marathon began at 7:00 PM on May 25, 2017, and concluded at 6:00 AM on May 27, 2017, at Sesame Street Preschool, Shivranjani, Satellite, Ahmedabad. This remarkable feat set a new world record, celebrating the rich tradition of Indian classical percussion.
The event was officially adjudicated and certified by Mr. Paavan Solanki, President of World Record of India, further cementing its place in the record books.
The Tabla Talim Sansthan’s initiative highlights the importance of perseverance, dedication, and passion for Indian classical music among the younger generation.
