In a groundbreaking initiative to combat the rising challenges of mental health, the Maharshi Arvind Psychology Department of Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat, India, successfully conducted the largest mental health awareness campaign in the region’s history.
Spanning from December 22, 2022, to March 5, 2023, the campaign reached over 45,000 individuals, including students from 54 schools across 9 districts. As a highlight of the program, all participants took a pledge to prioritize mental well-being, making it one of the most extensive public commitments to mental health in India.
The campaign was conceptualized and led by a dedicated team of experts—Dr. Yogesh Jogsan, Dr. Dhara R. Doshi, and Dr. Hasmukh Chavda—whose efforts were instrumental in promoting emotional awareness, psychological resilience, and the importance of open conversations around mental health.
This record-setting initiative not only raises awareness but also marks a significant shift toward a more informed and mentally resilient society, aligning with national goals for holistic health and well-being.
