In a powerful display of unity and commitment to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign), the District Administration of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, under the dynamic leadership of Shri C.P. Tripathi (IAS), Divisional Commissioner – Saharanpur Division, and Shri Alok Kumar Pandey (IAS), District Magistrate – Saharanpur, organized a massive Yoga session and awareness drive at Dr. Ambedkar Indoor Stadium.
Over 10,000 students and citizens from all age groups, castes, and communities participated in the event, which culminated in a 1.5 km-long chain made from 25,000 postcards—each bearing the photograph of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and a pledge:
“I swear I will keep my house, street, colony, and city clean and will not defecate in the open.”
This remarkable effort, promoting cleanliness, health, and social responsibility, earned a New World Record and showcased Saharanpur as a model for civic participation and environmental commitment.
The initiative not only encouraged physical well-being through yoga but also instilled a deeper sense of social accountability among participants, making it a memorable and impactful contribution to the nationwide cleanliness movement.
