In a historic health initiative, the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) has set a new national record by organizing the largest one-day diabetes screening drive across multiple venues.
Under the leadership of Dr. Banshi Saboo, President of RSSDI, and Dr. Sanjay Agarwal, Secretary, the society successfully screened a staggering 10,64,989 people for diabetes across 10,258 camps held on September 29, 2021, coinciding with World Heart Day.
With the inspiring motto ‘One Nation, One Day, One Million Sugar Tests’, this massive campaign spanned cities, towns, and villages across India, emphasizing the urgent need for early detection and prevention of diabetes — a growing health challenge in the country.
“This achievement is a milestone in public health and reflects our collective commitment to combating diabetes through awareness and proactive screening,” said Dr. Saboo. The initiative not only set a record but also empowered over a million citizens to take charge of their health.
This unprecedented effort by RSSDI stands as a shining example of nationwide collaboration in preventive healthcare and has set a new benchmark for community health drives in India.
