Ramesh Babu – Longest Career in Advertising set a World Record.

Dubai-based advertising veteran Ramesh Babu has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records for the longest career in advertising, marking a remarkable milestone in his 50-year journey in the UAE’s media industry .

Babu, now 77, arrived in Dubai from Kannur, Kerala, in 1974, driven by a passion for design and entrepreneurship. He began his career by hand-drawing advertisements for newspapers and cinema screens, laying the foundation for what would become a pioneering legacy in the region’s advertising landscape. In 1977, he established his first company, Nayana International, later rebranded as Eye Advertising, and subsequently launched Al Oyoon Advertising in 1992.

Throughout his career, Babu has been instrumental in shaping the visual identity of numerous brands across the UAE, adapting from traditional hand-drawn techniques to modern digital methods. His office in Baniyas Square serves as a testament to his enduring commitment, housing a collection of vintage newspapers, slides, and advertising materials that chronicle the evolution of the industry.

This Guinness World Record not only honors Babu’s individual achievements but also highlights the transformative journey of advertising in the UAE over the past five decades.
