In a remarkable effort to preserve and promote the rich cultural legacy of Rajasthan, especially the Mewadi tradition, Ashadevi K. Sonigada, a dedicated Mewadi story and song writer from Mumbai, Maharashtra, authored 134 spiritual stories centered around the life and divine journey of Indian goddess Dasha Maa.
The stories, deeply rooted in Mewadi folklore and spirituality, have been thoughtfully compiled into a single book titled “Dasha Maa – Mewadi Kahaniya ka Khazana”, which translates to “A Treasure of Mewadi Tales on Dasha Maa.” The book was published by Neelam Publication and released on March 24, 2009.
Ashadevi’s initiative aims to instill pride in regional literature and inspire the younger generation to stay connected with their roots. Through the medium of storytelling, she highlights traditional values, divine devotion, and the importance of Mewadi linguistic and cultural preservation.
This literary milestone not only enriches Indian vernacular literature but also stands as a testament to the role of women in cultural revival and storytelling. The book continues to receive acclaim for its
