“Most Villages Visited by Bicycle to Raise Awareness”

In support of Hon. Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi’s demonetization initiative and the promotion of cashless transactions, B.V. Narsimha Rao—a student and National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteer from Malla Reddy Engineering College, Hyderabad, Telangana—undertook an ambitious bicycle expedition. Covering 1,500 kilometers across three states of India within 18 days, he started his journey on 8th December 2016 from Hyderabad and concluded at Akodara, India’s first digital village in Gujarat, on 18th December 2016.

Throughout his journey, Narsimha Rao visited nearly 300 villages, engaging with over 5,000 rural residents to educate them about cashless transactions. His remarkable effort earned him accolades for bridging the digital divide and bringing financial literacy to underserved communities, setting a new record for his commitment to social service.
