Sunita Sharma, daughter of Ram Prasad Sharma, made history as the first and only sitar player from Sikkim when she performed the Indian classical music composition “SUMANGALAM” in Raag Kalyan with remarkable zeal and excellence.
Her captivating performance took place during the National Environment Awareness Campaign organized by the Kapinzal Social Foundation on July 15, 2011, at Jarrong, South Sikkim. Sunita’s artistry not only mesmerized the audience but also added a soulful touch to the environmental awareness event.
Her dedication and talent have paved the way for the appreciation of classical music in the region, inspiring many young musicians in Sikkim.
