Ganga Expressway Makes History: Two World Records Set in Just 24 Hours

In a remarkable achievement for Indian infrastructure, the 594-km Ganga Expressway project in Uttar Pradesh has etched its name into the record books by creating two world records within just 24 hours. The announcement was made following on-site validation by officials from the Golden Book of World Records, Asia Book of Records, and Indian Book of Records.

According to an official release, the construction team accomplished two unprecedented feats:

10 kilometers of crash barriers were installed in a single day.

34.24 lane kilometers of bituminous concrete were laid in just 24 hours.

These achievements underscore the project’s extraordinary pace and execution, positioning the Ganga Expressway as a benchmark in high-speed expressway construction not just in India, but globally.

Representatives from all three record-certifying bodies visited the construction site, conducted inspections, and officially certified the records. The feat is being hailed as a major milestone in India’s drive toward world-class infrastructure and faster connectivity.

The Ganga Expressway, envisioned as one of India’s longest expressways, will link Meerut to Prayagraj, significantly reducing travel time across Uttar Pradesh and boosting regional economic development.

Officials involved in the project emphasized that the records reflect not only technical precision and engineering excellence but also the collective dedication of thousands of workers, engineers, and project planners.

This record-breaking momentum adds to India’s growing stature in executing mega infrastructure projects at record speed.
