Nisha Kumari, a determined athlete and mountaineer from Vadodara, Gujarat, has set a remarkable record with her cross-country bicycle ride between India and Nepal. Dedicated to the cause of “CHANGE BEFORE CLIMATE CHANGE,” she covered an impressive 2369 kilometers in 28 days while promoting environmental awareness by planting over 1,000 trees along her route.
Nisha commenced her journey on June 23, 2024, from the Sama Sports Complex in Vadodara, traversing diverse terrains and reaching a maximum elevation of 1,306 meters. She concluded her inspiring ride at Kathmandu, Nepal, on August 2, 2024, where she was recognized for her exceptional achievement.
“This journey was not just about cycling; it was about raising awareness for climate change and taking tangible steps towards a greener future,” Nisha shared after setting the record at Kathmandu. “Every kilometer cycled and every tree planted represents a small but important contribution to the fight against climate change.”
