To promote awareness about environment conservation, art, and Indian spirituality, Deccan Education Society’s affiliated New English School, Ramanbaug, Pune, successfully organized an eco-friendly Ganesha idol making event. On 12th August 2017, a remarkable total of 2,161 students crafted Ganesha idols using Shadu clay, a natural and biodegradable material, setting a new world record.
The event was held at the New English School premises in Ramanbaug, Shanivar Peth, Pune, Maharashtra. This initiative not only highlighted the importance of using eco-friendly materials during festive celebrations but also encouraged students to connect deeply with Indian cultural and spiritual traditions while protecting the environment.
This massive collective effort showcased the school’s commitment to environmental sustainability and cultural heritage, inspiring the community to adopt greener practices during festivals.
