Dr. Yashwant Kothari Honored for Lifelong Dedication to Polio Eradication in India

Dr. Yashwant Kothari, born on November 14, 1942, from Udaipur, Rajasthan, has been a pioneering force in polio eradication efforts since 1981. Beginning his work through ward committees, Dr. Kothari has successfully administered polio vaccines to over 1,20,000 children across India, protecting them from this debilitating disease.

In recognition of his outstanding contribution, Dr. Kothari was honored at the Polio Free Conclave held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee.

Dr. Kothari’s lifelong commitment has played a significant role in India’s journey towards becoming polio-free.
