“Youngest Female to Cycle Across India North to South: A Record Ride Endorsed by WUCA”

Samidha Patel, a 17-year-old cycling sensation from India, has etched her name into the record books by becoming the youngest person to cycle the length of India, North to South, on a standard bicycle. The feat has been officially recognized by the World Ultra Cycling Association (WUCA).

Born on June 11, 2006, Samidha was just 17 years and 204 days old when she completed her epic journey on February 1, 2024. Starting from the southern tip of the country at Kanyakumari – Cape Comorin – Kanyakumari Beach, she cycled an astounding 2,232 miles (3,592 km) over 16 days, 9 hours, and 21 minutes, averaging a speed of 5.67 mph (9.13 kph).

Her record-setting ride was completed in the Solo, Female, Standard Bicycle categories, marking a significant milestone not only for Indian cycling but also for young athletes worldwide aspiring to take on endurance challenges.

The World UltraCycling Association (WUCA) officially congratulated Samidha for her achievement, which now stands as the new world record for the Youngest India North-South Crossing by a female cyclist.

Samidha’s determination and endurance over the grueling journey—facing varying weather conditions, challenging terrains, and long hours on the road—have inspired countless young Indians, particularly girls, to dream big and push their limits.
