“Brazilian Couple Sets World Record for Family Size with 13 Children and Over 100 Grandchildren”

Manoel Angelim Dino and Maria de Sousa Dino, a Brazilian couple, have set a Guinness World Record for the longest marriage for a living couple, having been married for 84 years and 77 days as of February 14, 2025.

Their journey began in 1936 when Manoel, then 17, met Maria, 13, while working in agriculture. They married in 1940 at the chapel of Boa Ventura in Ceará, Brazil.

Over the years, they raised 13 children, who have expanded their family to include 55 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Manoel and Maria attribute their enduring marriage to love.  Their story is a testament to enduring love and commitment, inspiring many around the world.

Before this Brazilian couple, the longest-living couple was David Jacob Hiller and Sarah Du Hiller from Canada. Manoel Angelim Dino and Maria de Sousa Dino started their marriage in 1940. However, initially Maria’s mother was skeptical about their relationship. But Manoel managed to win her heart. Now the couple is over 100 years old. Manoel and Maria are living their lives peacefully in their old age.

Meanwhile, when asked about the secret to their happy married life, they replied, “Love.” They say that for decades, the couple has worked hard in agriculture, cultivating tobacco to support their growing family. The couple has become the longest-living couple and has been recorded in the Guinness World Records. Hindustan Times has reported in this regard.
