First World Championship Gold (Women – Individual): On 25 August 2019, Sindhu became the first Indian to win a gold medal at the World Badminton Championships. She defeated Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in a dominant 21-7, 21-7 victory in Basel, Switzerland.
First Olympic Finalist: At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Sindhu won the silver medal in women’s singles after an intense final against Carolina Marin of Spain. The final score was 19-21, 21-12, 21-15, making Sindhu the youngest Indian to win an Olympic medal.
First World Championship Medal: In 2013, Sindhu made history by winning India’s first-ever World Championship medal, a bronze in Guangzhou, China. She continued her success with two silver medals in 2017 and 2018, showcasing her consistency at the World Championships.
