Pune Vocalist Manjushree Oak Enters Guinness World Records for Singing in Most Languages

Renowned Pune-based vocalist Manjushree Oak has secured a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for singing in the most languages during a single concert. The record-breaking concert, titled “Amrutwani – Anekta Me Ekta”, took place at the Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium in Pune on October 10, 2019, and lasted thirteen-and-a-half hours.

During the marathon performance, Oak sang 121 songs in different Indian languages, standing throughout the concert, driven by the energy of the audience and her personal challenge. The feat was officially confirmed last week when Oak received a letter of recognition from Guinness World Records.

Expressing her pride, Oak said, “My father and mother were strongly patriotic and believed in serving the country in every way possible. This was an opportunity to showcase the glory of India to the whole world.”

Manjushree Oak’s journey in music began under the guidance of her father, Vansant Oak, and she later became a disciple of Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar, honing her skills in classical and contemporary music. The record celebrates not only Oak’s exceptional talent and endurance but also the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of India.
