Hy-Vee Inc. in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, set a Guinness World Record by creating the largest ice cream sandwich, weighing 1,342.6 kg (2,960 lbs).

Guinness World Record The massive dessert measured 10.6 meters (35 feet) in length, 1.2 meters (4 feet) in width, and 0.27 meters (11 inches) in height.

A team of 30 employees worked for five hours to assemble the sandwich, which consisted of 32 large cookies, each measuring 2 feet by 3 feet, and 182 cylinders of vanilla ice cream, each weighing 14 pounds. After certification by a Guinness World Records adjudicator, the ice cream sandwich was divided and donated to the Food Bank of Lincoln and the Food Bank for the Heartland, supporting local families in need.

This event also marked the beginning of Hy-Vee’s initiative to donate 5 million meals to help families across the Midwest during the holiday season.
