Chennai-Based Stroke Survivor Sets Two World Records at Mount Kilimanjaro

A stroke survivor from Chennai, India has achieved an extraordinary milestone by setting two world records during a challenging expedition to Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

The climber, S. Sivaraman, overcame major health challenges to complete the demanding trek to the summit of Africa’s highest peak. Having previously suffered a stroke, Sivaraman trained rigorously for months to regain strength and endurance before attempting the climb.

During the expedition, he successfully set two world records, demonstrating remarkable determination and resilience. The achievements were later recognized and verified by Guinness World Records.

Mount Kilimanjaro, standing at 5,895 metres, is widely regarded as one of the toughest trekking challenges in the world due to its high altitude and harsh weather conditions. Completing the climb itself is a major accomplishment for most trekkers.

Sivaraman said his goal was not only to challenge himself but also to inspire stroke survivors and people facing serious health conditions. He hopes his achievement will encourage others to stay positive and pursue their dreams despite physical setbacks.
