India has created history by setting a Guinness World Record after more than 2.5 lakh people pledged their commitment to responsible artificial intelligence within just 24 hours at the AI Impact Summit held in New Delhi.
The massive participation included students, developers, educators, entrepreneurs, and technology professionals from across the country. Participants took a formal pledge promising to use AI ethically, safely, and responsibly for the benefit of society.
Officials from Guinness World Records monitored the process and confirmed that the number of pledges exceeded 250,000 within the 24-hour time limit, officially setting a new world record.
Organizers said the initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of ethical AI as the technology becomes more powerful and widely used. Workshops, expert sessions, and awareness programs were conducted alongside the pledge campaign.
“This achievement shows India’s commitment to building responsible and trustworthy AI,” an event spokesperson said. “It’s not just about technology, but about using it for good.”
Participants expressed pride in being part of the historic moment. Many said the pledge helped them understand the importance of fairness, privacy, and transparency in artificial intelligence.
