Rohtash Chaudhary, widely celebrated as the “Push-up Man of India” and a Fit India Ambassador, has successfully broken the Guinness World Record for the “Most Push-ups in One Hour with a 60 lb Pack on the Back.”
The record-breaking attempt, held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday, November 9, 2025, saw Chaudhary perform an astonishing 847 weighted push-ups, shattering the previous record and bringing the title home to India.
Chaudhary’s achievement involved performing push-ups while carrying a pack weighing 60 pounds (approximately 27.2 kg) on his back for a continuous hour.
New Record: 847 push-ups.
Previous Record: 820 push-ups, previously held by a Syrian athlete.
Verification: The official Guinness verification team was on-site to confirm the count and technique, validating the new record immediately.
The event, conducted under the banner of the Fit India Movement, drew thousands of spectators, including school children and fitness enthusiasts, who cheered Chaudhary’s display of relentless strength and endurance.
Following his successful attempt, an emotional Chaudhary dedicated his hard-won record to the Indian Armed Forces and Operation Sindoor, stating the feat symbolizes the nation’s strength and unity.
Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, graced the event and felicitated Chaudhary, praising him as an “embodiment of the Fit India spirit” and an inspiration carrying forward the Prime Minister’s vision for a fit, strong, and self-reliant nation. Chaudhary also urged the youth to move away from “reels” and embrace the “real” world of dedication and fitness.
This achievement follows Chaudhary’s previous record in November 2024 for the most one-leg push-ups with a weight on his back, cementing his status as a global pioneer in strength and fitness records.
