President Droupadi Murmu Felicitates India’s Women Boxing Champions for Stellar Performance at 2025 World Championships

In a proud moment for Indian sports, President Droupadi Murmu welcomed the nation’s women boxing champions at Rashtrapati Bhavan to honour their exceptional performance at the 2025 World Boxing Championships held in Liverpool. The President personally met and congratulated Jaismine Lamboria, Minakshi Hooda, Nupur Sheoran, and Pooja Rani, celebrating their remarkable achievements on the global stage.

India’s medal haul in Liverpool underlined the country’s rising dominance in women’s boxing. Jaismine Lamboria clinched gold in the 57 kg category, while Minakshi Hooda secured gold in the 48 kg division. Nupur Sheoran fought her way to a silver medal in the +80 kg category, and Olympic veteran Pooja Rani earned a bronze, completing a four-medal triumph for India.

During the felicitation, President Murmu lauded the athletes for their discipline, courage, and consistency, emphasizing that their victories reflect the growing strength and potential of Indian women in global sports.
