Indian Musician Benny Prasad Sets World Record for Fastest Time to Visit 245 Countries

Indian guitarist and globetrotter Benny Prasad has etched his name in travel history by setting the world record for the fastest time to visit 245 countries, including Antarctica — a feat he completed in just 6 years, 6 months, and 22 days.

Prasad, born in Bangalore in 1975, is not only a celebrated instrumental musician but also an intrepid world traveler whose passion for cultural exchange and faith-based storytelling took him on an extraordinary journey across every corner of the globe.

Beginning his travels in May 2004, Prasad pursued a mission to visit every sovereign nation and dependent territory, facing challenges ranging from complex visa hurdles to remote travel logistics. His journey spanned more than 6 years and culminated on 22 November 2010, when he stepped foot in his final country — Pakistan — thereby breaking the previous world travel record.

During his travels, Prasad played music before diverse audiences, from presidents and parliaments to global sporting events including the 2004 Olympic Games, the 2006 FIFA World Cup, and the 2007 Military World Games. Prasad’s achievement stands as a testament to determination, cultural curiosity, and the unifying power of music — inspiring travelers and adventurers worldwide to explore beyond borders.
