“World Record Set in Jamnagar: 5,000+ Pledge Against Tobacco on No Tobacco Day”

In a historic and inspiring initiative to promote cancer awareness and early detection, the Jamnagar Cancer Research Institute (JCRI), in collaboration with Manage Health Foundation, Ahmedabad, organized a World Record Program on the occasion of “No Tobacco Day” on May 31, 2019.

Led by the visionary efforts of Dr. Kalpana Khandheria, the campaign aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco consumption and encourage society to work towards a cancer-free future. As part of the initiative, over 5,000 participants gathered at Jamnagar, Gujarat, and took a collective pledge to quit chewing tobacco.

In a unique and health-oriented move, all participants also consumed a specially formulated Magic Mix Powder, a natural mouth freshener designed to aid in tobacco de-addiction, symbolizing their commitment to quitting the habit and embracing a healthier lifestyle.

This impactful event not only resonated deeply with the public but also set a new world record for the largest anti-tobacco pledge and de-addiction awareness campaign conducted in a single day.

The program stands as a significant milestone in public health awareness campaigns, underlining the crucial message that early detection and prevention through lifestyle change is key in the fight against cancer.
