“Padma Shri for Dr. Soniya Nityanand: A Pioneer in Medical Science and Compassionate Care”

Renowned medical scientist and educator Dr. Soniya Nityanand has been conferred the prestigious Padma Shri award for her outstanding contributions in the field of Medicine. The recognition celebrates her decades-long dedication to medical research, clinical excellence, and academic leadership.

Dr. Nityanand, a noted hematologist and immunologist, is known for her extensive work in bone marrow transplantation, blood disorders, and immune regulation. Her research has contributed significantly to advancements in the treatment of leukemia, anemia, and autoimmune diseases, benefiting thousands of patients across India.

Currently serving as the Director of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), Lucknow, Dr. Nityanand has also held key roles in top institutions including SGPGI and has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications. She is celebrated not just for her medical acumen but also for her mentorship of young doctors and researchers, especially women in science.
