In a vibrant display of cultural heritage and unity, GOPIPURA GROUP GRAM PANCHAYAT and the villagers of Gopipura organized a spectacular world record event under the leadership of Shri Bharat Bariya, renowned Internal Classical Dance Artist, and Shri Ramchandra Ramanlal Baria, Sarpanch of the village.
The event saw the participation of over 500 girls and women performing the traditional Sheri Garba dance while balancing pots on their heads, showcasing grace, strength, and cultural pride. This awe-inspiring performance set a New World Record on October 14, 2021, at Gopipura Group Gram Panchayat, Taluka Halol, District Panchmahal, Gujarat.
The event received strong community support from Shri Budhabhai Parsingbhai Rathwa (Deputy Sarpanch), and Smt. Bhagwatiben Ramchandra (Member, Baria Taluka). It was creatively conceptualized and efficiently managed by international classical dance artists Shri Akshay Patel and Smt. Minakshi Patel.
This record-setting performance not only celebrated Gujarat’s rich dance traditions but also promoted women’s participation in preserving cultural art forms.
