In a remarkable initiative blending devotion with public safety, Dr. Arun Lahoti, a Notary Advocate of the Government of India and Founder of TAG (Traffic Awareness Group), Surat, along with his team of 6 dedicated members, organized a powerful awareness campaign titled “Accident Free Surat” during the Ganesha Festival.
On 13th September 2018, the group visited 111 Ganesha Pandals (temples) across Surat, spreading vital messages on road safety and accident prevention. Through direct interactions and educational outreach, they motivated citizens to adopt safe driving practices and remain vigilant in traffic, especially during festival celebrations when accident risks are higher.
This impactful initiative was not only well received by the public but also earned recognition by setting a New World Record for the most Ganesha Pandals visited in a single day for a safety campaign.
Dr. Lahoti’s unique blend of legal expertise and social activism continues to inspire change in civic behavior, aiming to make Surat a model city for traffic awareness and accident prevention.
