“World Record by 100+ Bhavai Artists at Tana Riri Festival 2021”

In a vibrant celebration of India’s rich cultural heritage and to mark the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Gujarat Rajya Sangeet Natak Academy (Government of Gujarat), Gandhinagar, organized a World Record folklore music event during the prestigious Tana Riri Festival 2021.

Under the visionary leadership of Shri Pankajbhai Bhatt, Chairman of the Academy, more than 100 Bhavai artists came together to perform traditional Bhavai folklore music using the Bhungan instrument for a continuous 5 minutes. The captivating group performance took place at the historic Tana Riri Samadhi Sthal, Vadnagar, in Mehsana district, Gujarat, and officially set a New World Record.

This culturally significant event was further strengthened with the support of folklore stalwarts Shri Bharat Vyas, Bhungal Vadak Shri Mugatlal Nayak, and Shri Dahyabhai Nayak, whose contributions preserved the authenticity of this traditional Gujarati art form.

The event highlighted Gujarat’s dedication to preserving and promoting indigenous art forms and was a fitting tribute to India’s musical legacy during its 75th year of independence.
