Longest Continuous Classical Music Festival “Subah-e-Banaras” Sets New World Record

In a remarkable tribute to Indian classical music tradition, the District Cultural Association of Varanasi successfully organized the longest continuous classical music cultural program titled “Subah-e-Banaras.” The unique event, held at the historic Assi Ghat, began on November 24, 2014, and impressively ran without any repetition of artists for a staggering 1000 consecutive days, concluding on August 19, 2017.

This unprecedented initiative brought together a diverse lineup of classical musicians from across the country, showcasing the rich heritage and depth of Indian classical music. The continuous program attracted music enthusiasts and devotees daily to Assi Ghat, creating a vibrant cultural atmosphere in the spiritual city of Varanasi.
