French startup Aemotion has unveiled a futuristic tilting electric microcar designed to revolutionise urban commuting by blending the agility of a two-wheeler with the safety and comfort of a car. The compact vehicle just 79 cm wide uses patented tilt technology that allows it to lean up to 35 degrees like a motorcycle, making it ideal for navigating heavy city traffic and tight streets.
Built after more than a decade of development, the fully enclosed four-wheeled microcar features tandem seating and an electric powertrain capable of a top speed of around 115–120 km/h and an estimated range that can reach up to 340 km with optional swappable batteries.
Aemotion’s design aims to merge motorcycle-like handling with car-level protection, including four-point safety belts, crash structures and a weather-protected shell, offering practical daily transport without sacrificing comfort or safety.
With its ultra-narrow profile and leaning dynamics, the microcar is positioned as a city-friendly alternative to conventional cars and scooters, helping reduce congestion and emissions while reimagining how solo urban commuters move.
Aemotion plans to launch the vehicle initially in Europe, with pre-orders already open and an expected subscription model around €200 per month to make the futuristic mobility concept accessible to everyday users.
