Tesla Unveils Retro-Futuristic Diner + Drive-In on Santa Monica Boulevard

What started as a tweet in 2018 has now become a reality. Tesla has officially opened its first-ever diner and drive-in theater on Santa Monica Boulevard — and it’s every bit the retro-futuristic dream Elon Musk promised.

Combining classic Americana with cutting-edge tech, the Tesla Diner + Drive-In offers visitors a blast from the past with a leap into the future. Customers can enjoy juicy burgers, crispy wings, and hand-spun milkshakes, all while watching classic films on two massive 45-foot drive-in movie screens.

But that’s just the beginning.

In true Tesla fashion, the venue is packed with innovation:

  • Robot waiters, including Tesla’s own Optimus bots, serve popcorn and food directly to your car.
  • You can order straight from your Tesla touchscreen, no app or waiter needed.
  • Meals arrive in Cybertruck-inspired boxes, adding a stylish, sci-fi touch.
  • And for EV drivers, there’s convenience on a whole new level — 80 Superchargers are on-site, making this one of the most efficient and entertaining places to charge up in LA.

“This is one of the coolest spots in LA,” Elon Musk said at the grand opening, grinning in front of a neon-lit mural of Nikola Tesla flipping burgers.

With live music, vintage aesthetics, high-tech conveniences, and a menu rooted in comfort food, Tesla’s new space is more than a pit stop — it’s a destination.
