This sequence of toss losses matches Lara’s record from October 1998 to May 1999. Additionally, the Indian team has experienced 15 consecutive toss losses in ODIs, including three under KL Rahul’s captaincy during a series in South Africa.

Despite this unusual streak, the Indian team has demonstrated resilience and strong performance, reaching the Champions Trophy final. In that match, New Zealand’s captain Mitchell Santner chose to bat first after winning the toss.
